Grand Winner Interview
Vizi: Hi … Congratulations! You are the Grand Winner of the ViziSparkle Cats-A-Plenty contest! You won $365! Your winning photo is of a cute, little kitten in a beautiful yellow pitcher titled “I Drank All the Milk.” Your photo will be on the cover of the ViziSparkle Cats-A-Plenty magazine - what an accomplishment! Again, congratulations!
Vizi: Tell us about yourself as a photographer.
Jo: I definitely love taking pictures, and I often take pictures, especially with my iPhone. This time, however, I was distracted with preparing for a move to a new home. I did not know anyone who had cats or kittens for me to take pictures of, and the deadline was approaching. Fortunately, a friend who is also an Affiliate offered to take some pictures for me.
Vizi: Where and when did you take that winning photo? What is the story behind the picture?
Jo: The picture was taken just a day before the ViziSparkle Cats-A-Plenty deadline!! My friend was lucky to find a neighbor who had kittens that were a month old. She asked to go over and take pictures of the kittens. She is an amateur photographer and did not realize the effort it would take to take pictures of little kittens. The family had 4 or 5 beautiful, young children. It was a very windy day. The children were so excited about the kittens being photographed and they all wanted to help. My friend has long hair that was all over her face because of the wind. The wind and all the children wanting to help made her feel a little overwhelmed but she persevered. In retrospect, she was so glad that she had the children’s help. She realized that she would probably not have been as successful without their help. They kept on clapping and snapping their fingers to get the kittens’ attention so that my friend could take good pictures. The kittens also kept on running away and the children kept on catching them and bringing them back. She said it was quite hilarious. My friend ended up having fun and I am sure that she would be thrilled to let the family know that a picture of one of their kittens won!
Vizi: What equipment did your friend use for that shoot?
Jo: iPhone 7s
Vizi: What advice would you give someone who would like to become a photographer or a Vizi Affiliate?
Jo: As an Affiliate, it is important to keep going! Keep on contacting possible team members and encouraging your current team members to keep on contacting and growing as well. Use creative ways with social media to find new members. Be sure you understand the business and why it is such an innovative way to make money while having fun. Like they say, do what you love and money will follow.
